Effective presentation needs practice. The perfection comes through repetition. The one and only way to get mastery in the presentation is to give as many presentations as you can.Once you start feeling comfortable in front the of audience then you will start palying with the words. Confidence is the key for success in every field and confidence comes through practice. Do you remember learning to ride a motorbike. When we begin to ride the bike it seems too difficult to concentrate simultaneously on gear, break, accelerator and handle. We had to look down to change the gear, But once we become expert everything is done automatically. We can drive the bike while talking to someone behind. Same is applicable for presentation also. However, you can keep following tips in mind just to begin with.
1. Be passionate- It is very important to connect with the audience. And to get connected you must show the passion while speaking. You need to be enthusiastic and honest, then only you will be able to grab the attention of your audience
2. Identify the needs- It is very important to understand the audience. You must keep in mind the subject matter and the level of the audience going to be present and what they want to hear. Once you are able to fulfill their needs you will be appreciated and your voice will be heard.
3. Dont talk useless- You must nor get distracted fromthe core message. Try to keep it simple, focussed and brief. If you drag the matter too long, the audience will start getting bored.
4. Express yourself- Your expressions speak louder then words. Always keep a smile on your face. Make eye contact with the audience and try to use gestures to explain your pints.
5. Start well- Well begun is half done. Your start must be strong enough to grab the attention. You can use any quote or any intersting incident or a good example. If you are able to startwith a bang then you will be able to keep your audience bound till the end.
6. Use storytelling- Storytelling is the most effective way of presentation.Human mind responds easily to the characterisation.try to make your presentation visual in the form of a story.
7.Voice and body language- practice to strenghthen your voice and use your body language to communicate. Practice on your gestures and postures because when you give a presentation, not only the mouth but your whole body speaks.
So keep in mind these tips whenever you are preparing for the presentation. Take a deep breath and have a good start without getting nervous.
