Speaking in front of an audience is an art which can be made better through effort. Nervousness is a common thing. Even the best public speaker feels nervous before starting the speech.here are a few techniques which will boost your confidence and make you a good speaker.

1. Make yourself comfortable- when you reach on the stage, walk a little, take a deep breath, look and smile towards your audience and then start your conversation. It will give a feeling that you are confident enough and in charge of the situation.
2. Connect with the audience- Make it a two-way communnication.try to engage the audience with live examples. If you are able to interact with the audience in between your speech your audience will feel engaged and your speech won't be monotonous and boring.
3. Make eye contact- The most important part of public speaking is to keep eye contact with the audience. Don't try to look anywhere else and try to look in the eyes of everyone present in front of you.
4. know your audience- You must have the knowledge about people to whom you are speaking. After all your speech is about them only. Before preparing your speech do a little homework about the place, situation, topic, knowledge, age group and status of your audience. If you are well aware before speech it will help you to connect better with your audience.
5. Practice a lot- Practice is the only way to become successful. the only key to a successful public speaking is practice.even the best speakers practice their speech before going on stage.try to practice in front of the mirror and observe your expressions. You can also practice in front of your friends and take their feedback.
6. Try to use humor, experiences and stories-the best speech is in the form of storytelling. Don't just use facts but try to include some jokes and stories in between. In this way, the mood of the audience can be kept light and they will love to hear your speech again and again.
7. Start and finish with effect- Grab the attention by starting with an anecdote or any effective quote or something which sounds too interesting. similarly, end your speech with something dynamic.dont just say thank you at the end but leave the stage with something which makes your audience to keep thinking about you.
8. Make use of your body language- While on stage, not only your words but your whole body speaks. So make use of your hands, facial expressions, Hands etc. Don't keep yourself restricted only to the dais. Walk over the whole stage and move your hand s while speaking. It will have a positive impact on your audience.
